So should I be worried for my safety next week?

I sincerely hope not Stu.

To be fair, I haven't seen trouble with opposing fans, it's more the verbal rubbish that they spout. The Catalans incident was an embarrassing disgrace and it sounds like aswell as the 'on field' disgrace last night, there were similar off field antics.

I have been reading the site a while but have decided to sign up to comment on the above.

i am that younger lad referred to and i would like to explain what happened. basically, a few of us were walking from the west end to tha east end for the second half when we walked past the floodlight to hear a middle aged drunken man agressively abusing the young kids who were lined up waiting to go on at half time. it would appear one of the little cocky ones had told this bloke that his top (cas polo) was poop and this guy felt the need to offer them all out telling them to fetch their dads. he was calling them all sorts of words and i felt the need to remind him of their age and that he was an ebsarrassment to cas fans and that he was a disgrace. after a rew verbals exchanged (he actually tried to justify his actions by saying they swore at him) he came at me, the result being a punch up and him being escorted out of the ground.

i am not proud of what happened but felt the need to explain what happened as these sort of things can be escalated and the old case of chinese whisper sets in and before you know it people get into trouble.

sorry for tarnishing the reputation of the club's fans by fighting but i felt the guy needed telling and it was obvious he was after trouble and thats what he found.

it's not good to see and hear about other bits of trouble we appear to be getting into more and more bother recently which isn't good for the next round of SL francise applications. i know from speaking to tony (head steward at cas) that when the clubs meet at the RFL however often it is that cas are accused by all the other clubs has having the worst fans and that the club are fighting an up hill battle. this is obviously not good at all.

I appreciate you taking the time to explain & I can see where more and more of the genuine fans are being forced into taking their own actions - through sheer frustration in alot of cases. But idiots with bellies full of booze cannot offer reasonable arguements and therefore incidents like the one describe are the result.

I fear that this is another of the final nails in our Superleague coffin.

theres no justifying his actions, and i keep thinking he must of had to go home and explain to their lass why he was covered in blood, what sort of excuse will he have made up because if he had chosen to tell the truth she would probably slap him.

oh now they are travellers.....tut tut tut racist, had many dealings with travellers some are rotten eggs some are very nice people, just like society as a hole, but you are a racist and the worst kind one that is selective, so i will answer your question there are many car parks and spare land in Castleford, please goole map them and pass the info on, infact id say at some pointy most have been used and will continue to be used, never bothered me before and i doubt it ever will....now answer mine did you clap when Kevin Penny score in the Northern Rail Cup final..or in your case is it double standards.

Well I have to say I actually know hourigantiger and have attented many a cas game home and away and overseas with the bloke.

I know that there would have had to be a very good reason for him to become involved in something of this nature.

I am sure he was only trying to stop the threats beign made to young kids waiting to go out and play on the pitch at half time. Unfortunatly the other person in question decided to take this further and violence occurd.

Do I condone violence = NO

Do thing happen in the heat of the moment that you may regret = Yes and I am sure if it happened again things would be different and hourigantiger wouldnt have taken actions into his own hands. But the person who should be taking the poop is the person is the drunk cas fan who was verbally abusing children and offering them and their parents fights.

He is a loyal cas fan through and through and have been to games with him for over 7 years home away and never been a hint of trouble.

I must give HT the credit for having the balls to teel the truth with regards to what happened. You dont see all the drunken fools on here explaining why they took the action they did.
