Well done TM ! : Sat Feb 06, 2010 12:36 pm
...on the Half Time team talk !

So much rubbish written, so much negativity after a loss, yet not many go into the finer details after a win. Better game plan in the second half, kicked them to death with a change in the kicking game and toughed out the win when previously we may have played the fancy dan stuff and thrown it away. Enthusiastic and showed the will to win.

Not to get carried away, we have won 1 game from 27, it just so happens it was in the Champions back yard. A great two points. Another 52 to play for. We will lose some, thats when the 'experts' appear with the analysis and criticism. We are only as good as our last game, yet we have 7 days to savour this 2 points. A positive start and we have set a benchmark, consistency is the key.

The one thing that really has to change this year is our home form. It'll be interesting to see how we back this up at Wheldon Rd

Agreed. Our home form - 3 wins out of 13 - last season was shocking. We need to improve on that significantly.

Hmm, think id like to see the clinical way we shut the game down last night, confidence drained out of the leeds players
with all those drop outs 2nd half. :)

Build on good defense, and smart attack.

Dont mind winning ugly

I agree. Our most important match of the season is always the next one and I don't think it's about ability it's more a state of mind.

I made a point last year, that possibly our decline in home form was a fear of losing , which came from the terraces and the pressure our own supporters put the players under. It happens in Premiership football, where teams relax more away. There was a tension within the players, totally understandable when idiots boo them for conceding a try. They were booed off in the first game last year, which was absolute ridiculous. I go on about it a lot on here, too much probably, but for me if supporters (and I know it's a minority) really want the best for their team, they have to support them when it's tough, rather than slag them off.

Good points, i think this year will be different at home games though, most realise that our super league status could end in a couple of years, and will cheer on the lads whatever happens on the field,i know i will

As long as we don't get a string of injuries all at once then I'm sure we can improve on that. Plus if we manage to have another good away form season then we should be heading for a top 8 finish again.

"I'm sorry, but I would hope that we would beat Cas with a 1 day turnaround."

An arrogant Wigan fan a few days before we stuffed them 18-4 at the JJB.

Having Hudson on the field for longer is the way forward!!!!!! Good work from TM, we got infront then didn't let it slip, pretty much relentless with chase & shifty kicking them to an agonising death in the final 20..
