A few conclusions I have come to after the game are:
1. We didn't get an easy ride with Bentham today. Not the worst ref performance ever but still shocking in places, especially towards then end, and the odd bounce didn't go our way (how did that ball not sit up for Danny) yet we still managed to get the win.
2. We have pace! We have never had pace. You could just see the Catalan teamtalk now. 'Ok what we are going to do is bomb Youngquest' It worked a couple of times and then...... If I could read minds when the sky camera went to the Catalan coach when Youngquest ran the length of the field it was something like aaaaaaaaah feck. Also Arundel showed good pace too. I honestly don't think Shenton would have made that if it was last season.
3. Dureau was fantastic today, but we are getting better at closing down dangermen, and in the 2nd half we had him figured out. The amount of times he had to change direction because he had no options was pleasing to see.
4. Our fitness levels are way better than last year.
5. The first 20 mins of second half last season we were blown away by teams. This season, have we conceeded a single try in this 20 minute spell? They all seem to be coming at the end of the game.
Very pleasing.
Huby for England!
