Thanks to the great Satan that is Michael Maguire, this tackle is already in use - he brought it to Wigan from the Melbourne Storm, as demonstrated by Mr Lima, and it's radiated outwards from there.

I would never get tired of slapping Richie Mathers in the face with a muddy shoe but on this issue, I'm in total agreement with him - it's a gutless, dirty technique and is designed to deliberately hurt the opposition player.

The technique is coached right through the wigan club from there 15s scholoras all the way up. The call is to "Snap the Pole"

2 tacklers hold the player up and a 3rd man comes in from the side and attacks the standing knee with the shoulder.

It can only be designed to injure

I heard one of the Wigan coaches at an under 20s game earlier in the season rollock a player in the warm up with this sentence "Dont leave him standing, snap that f**ing pole"

It needs to be outlawed.

A stationery ball carrier, with two men holding him up, then the third man behind the knees. Leulai did it early on.

Was watching out for illegal tackling techniques in the first half from Wigan but when the number got past 30 I gave in, grapples/ninjas/chicken wings/snap the pole all in there, the most common being the latter.
