can anyone tell me if rangi chase's court case in oz is still ongoing?
with all the problems with visa refusal ie carney,croker,bird and now eastwood.even meli cant get back in and he has been here a while.
if chase has to return for a court date and is convicted even just a fine he may well not be allowed back in the country.

The case was dropped, he also already has a visa - otherwise he wouldn't be here now.

I didn't realise the case had been dropped - that's good news.

I think the club have done very well to get all our boys over here in November /December. So many clubs have had interrupted preperations and it makes a nice change that we have been very settled in pre-season for a few months now.

Not sure about this but why cant meli get a visa if he's already lived and played over here.

i presume everytime a player goes home he must then re-apply,he could go home for the winter and get a conviction.im not saying this is whats happend to meli just trying to answer what seems a puzzling situation.


it stuns me that these international players get turned away when they are clearly coming over to do a skilled job but we let in crooks and criminals from eastern europe and alike when they offer the country nothing but problems.there must be a lot of war veterans scratching there heads and wondering why they put there lives on the line for 6 years to see the country in the state is today.

Yeah my dad was one of them.

So as meli got some sort of criminal record since he's gone back to oz.

some of meli's defence is criminal so maybe the saints fans tipped off the rozzers!
glad to hear chase is in the clear i never saw anything official mentioned hence the question.

Meli is delayed same as our Lolesi's was - although his arrived in time for the last pre-season match.

No mate thats not the case. They have to reaplly when their current visa expires. The British embassy in Canberra believe they have been too leniant in the past with visa, so if a player has any sort of criminal record the chances are he won't get a Visa. Even if he got a visa before with his criminal record.
