Every player in our squad could probably earn more money with another club. But they prefer to sacrifice a few extra quid in their back pocket to share special memories. And playing at a place like Old Trafford on a night like this makes it all worthwhile.

Under what possible scenario would the club need to do that?

Maybe the club don't feel the need to make a public statement about

1. The lack of depth in the squad. Because there isn't a lack of depth. Because they think the squad is in the best shape it can be.

2. The fact that the recession might be affecting their corporate income. Because it should be patently obvious. Do we really need a press conference from Mr Caddick to tell us the business world is tightening its' belt?

3. The dire need to re-develop the Southstand. Actually, they have gone public about this. But if you missed it, next time we're on telly, have a peek at the bottom of the Southstand and see what jumps out at you.

Lauaki had an outstanding World Cup IMO and if he gets here will be a big hit on Humberside.

Unlike Sam Moa who looks like a big sh*t on Humberside.
He looks like a poor man's Leuluai or Pa'aleasina.
If we have to be interested in another SL player, how about Tony Clubb?
Looks like he can play centre or second row. He impresses me as a player who could really develop playing in a better team than Harlequins. Although I thought they played very well to their strengths tonight with a game plan that they executed fully. Chad Randall - very underated in my view - was well worth his MOM.

When was the last time Hull beat Harlequins away in the SL Regular Rounds?

Three wins from fourteen wouldn't have filled me with much expectation to be perfectly honest.

I tend to measure Leeds against the best they can be. I'd like to see Leeds use whatever they have at their disposal to defend their titles this season. I don't even mind seeing them fail if I think they are giving us 100% of what they've got.

If they thought they needed to sign Greg Eastwood (and they appeared to think so when they signed him) what has changed since then to make a replacement not as necessary?

London born players should not be coveted by north of England teams, IMO and any that sign them do the sport a dis-service.

Clubb would make an excellent acquisition but one that I'd hate Leeds to make.

It's not how much talent you've got, it's what you do with it that counts.

1. The lack of depth in the squad. Because there isn't a lack of depth. Because they think the squad is in the best shape it can be. They think the squad is better without Greg Eastwood or a replacement for him than if he were here? Really?

2. The fact that the recession might be affecting their corporate income. Because it should be patently obvious. Do we really need a press conference from Mr Caddick to tell us the business world is tightening its' belt? The simple fact that it is affecting corporate income makes it easier to sign a high quality replacement, like Burgess. Other clubs with lower revenues than Leeds and greater spend on SC (Hood has publically stated that the Bulls are spending to the cap) will be finding life harder than we are.

3. The dire need to re-develop the Southstand. Actually, they have gone public about this. But if you missed it, next time we're on telly, have a peek at the bottom of the Southstand and see what jumps out at you.I don't disagree with you on this point.

Ultimately those businesses that communicate with their customers (actual and potential) with the most honesty and clarity, are the ones that have the most stable relationship with them.

As our old sales Director used to say, "Honesty is never the best policy".

Admitedly he lied about who was sharing his company paid for condo and simply disappeared one day after being fired and threatened with jail if he opened his mouth, but as a general principle it still holds up IMO.

Technically that would also include our coach and GH, as we actually did sign Eastwood.

I don't know how much cash it costs to build a stand the size of the South Stand, but it has to make a players contract look like something you might find down the back of a sofa.

I have to agree with our human computer here.

I guess that working for a company that is listed on Wall Street and therefore bound by Sarbanes Oxley regulations, I'm just too honest.

We were being audited for Sarbanes Oxley at the time or nothing would have been done, thankfully the company I work for now is privately owned.

I'm with tvoc on that, and I think you could add McCarthy-Scarsbrook to that list too.

As for signing someone of the quality of Sam Moa - on last nights performance we don't need to be doing that.
