Well from what I have seen I would say Hardaker has been impressive but I haven't watched anywhere near as much SL this year. I've paid even less attention to the table throughout the year to be honest.
Close call between Cuthbertson and Walmsley for me, both been great players this season, however I came down on Walmsley's side. Didn't consider Hardaker, to be honest. He's equally had an outstanding season but, imo the 'extra-curricular' stuff means he's far from the ideal sort of person to represent the sport of rugby league in its primary players' award.
I voted for Cuthbertson. Alex Walmsley is a huge bloke and does the hard yards very well, but for me Cuthbertson has been an absolute revelation this year.
He has smashed the record for total number of offloads in a season, and has had a significant influence on the entire playing style that Leeds Rhinos incorporated into their team this season that - at times - has seen them look a class above anyone else in super league.
Adam's ability to get the ball away defies belief at times, and he has an eye for a pass that puts some half backs to shame.
Hardaker, in my opinion, shouldn't be on the list. I would swap him for Luke Gale, who has had a cracking season at Cas. Consistently brilliant, I think he's largely responsible for the great season Cas have had and he has out-performed every other half back in the league.
