I think the idea of him being a good coach, but not a head coach has merit. He can coach the techniques perfectly fine, but the tactics side of things seem a bit beyond him.
Adam Sidlows comment in the T & A was an interesting pointer when asked about the difference between Jimmy & Rohans coaching.
He said with Jimmy it was always intense but with Rohan he's intense when he needs to be!
That and I suspect other aspect of Jimmy's man management were a big part of the problems he had getting the Squad to perform during the matchs.
