We should soon be issuing our squad numbers for this season. What do we think they will be and will they include such as Johnson, Barlow or Maskill. Are these players still with us? I know Maskill was only on a trial basis.

Those players are no longer at the club. You can add Keelan Foster to that list as well.



Sadly it become a habit over the last few years that when players contracts expire they dissappear with out any formal announcemet. Not even a short statement from the club thanking them for their efforts.

To be fair I think the majority of squads look light. Once you get passed the 20th man, most squads are into unknowns.



What I will say is our squad looks the most balanced since we probably came down to the championship. Beats the days of having 10 wingers and one half back.

The key words from John yesterday were before the League season starts on April 4th, so that ties in with the start of Super League.



We know that once the Super League clubs have had their pre-season games and their season starts, that players who have little chance of regular first-team action will be available to other clubs.

Agree 100% . Possible long term loan deals for SL players down the pecking orders at their clubs. Sound like names have already been agreed going on JKs interview

No quota spot needed for Stanley, he was under contract at Toronto so has dispensation.



Although Chester has said he is still looking overseas and we are at the full quota as it stands, Tangata is the only player I could see leaving.



He would be a good signing for you, he was a very good championship player before and he has improved a lot in a full time environment with us since he joined.

Haha anyone on here would agree we need another front row one of his calibre would be massive landing him would be the challenge

Well I have faith Kear will sign players in the position we need ( prop) rather than the bad days of signing 10 wingers when we were desperate for a HB.

The precariouness of this season with injuries already showing with Yorks Morgan Smith suffering an ACL. Gutting for the lad and a big blow for York. Think luck with injuries going to play a huge part this season.

With two more ACLs to be announced by the clubs meaning it's going to be a long season.



When I spoke to John Kear on Tuesday, he reported bumps and knocks, nothing serious, so keeping those fingers crossed.

Also if anyone wants to feel old, Matt Callands son is also on a month's trial.
