Completely different given the fact that Rugby League is one of, if not, Australia's biggest sport. Whereas, it's way down the pecking order here in the UK.

Thats why I'm not for this expansion nonsense. Couldn't even get Quins to exceed the 3,000 barrier at the weekend.

I personally think we will see 16 teams come the next franchise in 2011, exciting times ahead for rugby league fans though.

People will still find something to moan about though.

Being self-employed you are at liberty to arrange your working hours around kick-off times etc. so I don't see your point.

However the point being that you was de-riding the crudentials of certain clubs because they do not bring thousands of away fans to games at the H&J yet by admission you do not go to away games yourself. Surely even you can see an element of glass houses and stones in what you say.

If a club has to rely upon away fans paying at the gates to survive then I suggest they themselves are not worthy of a licence.

in my opinion i dont think salford should be in there at all. i dont feel they brought anything to super league the last time they were there, admittedly neither did widnes or leigh. but i feel widnes' setup is far superior to that of salford, leigh, Celts. even cas and wakey for me could have been replaced by widnes..

a lot of talk has been about how poor grounds are, but if it went purely on ground quality then Saints, cas, wakey, celts, salford... none of these would have a license so there are many factors why i feel widnes have been hard done to

Well done to Celtic as the development they have made in 3 years is phenomenal. may be 3 years too soon for them but only time will tell

Er..Leigh?

lets face it Salford would be out of Business now if they had failed to get a licence it was a gamble that paid off.

from RFL Site
Despite previous relegations from Super League the club has a long history of financial stability. The club’s commercial and marketing plans appear well developed and will allow them to make use of a new stadium and access to the Salford and Manchester conurbations.

So would suggest not

padgate wire wrote:
Wakey and Cas should have already been in there stadiums by now and there Franchises should be on elastic and if they are not in and playing at new stadia before 2011 they should lose their licence .

Agreed. However at the end of the day its not all about stadia.

Fine if you want to keep RL a minority sport, it's people like you that can't see past the M62 and realise that there is hunger for Rugby League when the sport needs to expand to attract more players, stronger competition etc....

Next we need a Cumbrian team for 2011.

No chance Mate......I watched the Celtic v Whitehaven game on channel 4 Wales and the Haven fans travelled down in decent and vocal numbers and from the sounds & images on the TV they looked to be thouroughly enjoying themselves...and enjoying a good Game of rugby League to boot.....

We cant encourage that kind of positive behaviour now can we...??

Its not completely different at all, it just doesn't suit your argument.
