London Broncos have become surprise contenders to sign Leigh Centurios forward enforcer Jamie Acton.

Acton, 24, and originally from London, is rumoured to be out of favour at Leigh and if the Centurions can manage to secure the services of their much coveted extra prop which they want it is thought they will allow Acton to move on.

Despite a questionable disciplinary record it is thought Andrew Henderson, the Broncos coach, would be interested in signing Acton for the promotion-targeting southern club. If he was to sign his signing would fit into Henderson's recent recruitment strategy of signing players with roots down south who can provide the club with commitment, similar to Kieran Dixon and Michael Channing.

London have confirmed there will be one more signing before their recruitment is complete.

Huge mistake if we let him go, YES he let us down badly at the back end of the year but prior to that he was our best forward and is still young with the best in front of him. A big pre season, a lump of maturity and he will be a great SL forward. We should not be making calls like this until we see whos fit come KO and trust this is just speculation

All well and good saying you'd rather he stay but this is a salary cap sport and not everyone can stay contracted, especially those who have histories of injuries or long suspensions.

Also, I read the other day that next season Leigh will have more contracted out-and-out props than any other SL team. With the club saying they are still looking for another prop where does this leave Acton?

Cant remember but do the maths and tell me if im wrong. How many contracted props do Leigh have? Compare that to Castleford for example.

Derek, if the rumours are right then Mario Rugby is supposed to be Neil Barker,who is presently at our Club in some capacity, Mario Rugby was always posting on the Salford Forum when Neil was at Salford and many Salford posters said it WAS Neil, although nothing official, however since Neil has come to Leigh, Mario Rugby does seem to be posting a bit on our Forum.
As far as Jamie Acton is concerned, if it is true Leigh are eyeing up another prop,and they need to unload a player before they can sign him , then I trust Jukesy and Derek to do the right thing, for the best interects of Leigh Centurions.
