Australia never ever looked stretched in that game and they stuffed England yet again. What a joke Super League is!!! Yet Super League is the be all and end all as we kill the game off in the heartlands and spread the game to the welcoming arms of the Welsh and Londoners we will surely beat the Ozziies with a combined team of Welsh and Londoners. Rugby League is a real joke now. We need to get back to looking after our own. 2 professional leagues of 12 teams in the heartlands with promotion and relegation will get the interest and the passion back. We also need the British Lions back.

Rugby League will be dead in England in 10 years if things don't change. It isn't even called Rugby League now - it is called Super League - isn't that women's football or basketball??

Could you imagine an English team in the NRL, they wood win the wooden spoon every time.

Next season in the Championship we have a 10 team league with no promotion or relegation. That really will draw the crowds in won't it. The game is dying because of the idiots in charge and everyone of us it letting this happen.

I heard people congratulating the RFL for helping us out with the HMRC. If the RFL gave every club a decent salary cap whereby we could attract investors this would not happen. The RFL are making us into a poor feeder club so please don't thank them when they seemingly come to our rescue. They along with SL have taken away the heart of the game whereby every team has a chance to go right to the very top and win the Challenge cUp and the Grand Final.

No League is dead thanks to SL and RFL, The Meerkat and Nigel Woods.

If the RFL hadn't stepped in there would be no Leigh Centurions.

True but I don't agree with the payouts between the league......ALL 3 divisions should get equal money each year, Even Champ1 clubs should get the same as SL clubs IMO.

SL clubs get more money through sponsorships and season ticket sales etc - so why should they get more money than lower league clubs from the RFL/SKY deal, its a joke and is killing the lower league clubs and the no promotion/relegation doesn't help either.

Agree that the RFL only want lower league clubs to be used as feeder clubs so we can help develop the SL players by the way of the duel contract system thats in place.

Its what the individual teams can bring to rugby league, not what they can get out of the rugby league. Superleague clubs get more money because they do have good sponsorships and they do generate bigger attendances which in turn raises the profile of the game. I have to agree with the last point however, the rugby league does appear to be wanting the lower teams as feeder clubs, especially the div 1 teams. But i suppose just like in life itself....only the strong survive and the weak and sick ultimately get devoured. Not nice i know but nonetheless a fact.

Trouble is though' as a lot of us predicted' the introduction of franchising would ultimately lead to the demise of the professional game sooner rather than later and outside non relegation league first.

Does anyone now seriously believe that the clubs who currently have franchises will now lose them ? Of course not.

Improve your club is the RFL's retort. What happens if you do ? Well you stay where you are and the best players you produce will be cherrypicked by the elite.

Any promising local talent goes into a scholarship with a franchised side and to give them competative game time they are loaned out to Non promotable clubs and the cycle continues again.

It is pathetic demoralising and suicidal. No competition ie no promotion/relegation you get stagnation. We have a cartel now not a sport. Cartels are illegal in commerce for obvious reasons (Well they are in the western world).

Wyswyg is bang on and every rational person knows it.

Here is another prediction. Quins will go out of existence soon but no Championship club will get the franchise( ie the Quins one) they currently hold.

I see what WYSIWYG means, but I was really hoping we would win, and not being amused by if we lost 'heavily'.
BUT obviously SUPER LEAGUE is not producing enough talent at international level. We are not the only SPORT to embrace 'overseas' players, England CC & RU do it. The likes of Heighington, Chase, Widdop, & Reed go 'straight' into our team......WHY ?????? So 'in the end' we conceded as many points as Wales did to New Zealand - still enjoyed our game though, but yet again we have to listen to Australia being 'gracious in victory' and saying how well WE played - agggghhh !!!

If the RFL and SL gave us an equal footing then there would be no need to go to the RFL with cap in hand for a bail out. They really have you sorted. The RFL and SL are killing the game in the heartlands and you need to wake up. If we had a few million salary cap then we could attract investors and challenge SL but the RFL won't le tus so THANK YOU RFL!!!!!!! NOT!!!!!

Why do you think I have stopped watching RL after 50 years, I would rather watch paint dry now!! Rugby Union and Football have relegation and promotion and are far better sports now!!!!
