Let’s say we’d gone all out and got Craig Bellamy or Mal Meninga or Trent Robinson. There’s no guarantee they’d do well and we’d be in the same boat of not knowing either way.

Michael Maguire hadn’t coached as Head Coach before he came, that turned out pretty well. Just give Peet a chance. There’s a lot of work to be done in my opinion before we’re challenging properly again but I still don’t think those times are far away either. Patience is going to be key in 2022.

Fair comment, but I think you will find that the majority of supporters were expecting the club in order to boost season ticket sales following the lockdown etc would have appointed a more experienced and well known head coach from down under.

Who was available / likely for us to get ?

Haven’t we also never appointed a head coach under IL? (Maguire, Wane, Lam….)

Where did you get that info from? Or once again are you making the mistake of thinking that everyone agrees with your summation ?

Would you have been happy for Andy Gregory to have been named Head Coach? (I actually can't believe I'm typing those words?).

I well remember negative comments about the appointment of Maguire. Quite scathing they were too, especially from one particular poster!

Funny you should mention that - A month or so ago I went back to around 2009 posts just to see what reaction etc there was.
Didn't quite get there as was intrigued by a lot of other threads etc.
However, as you say, I suspect there would be some quite interesting observations from back then!

I only posted the thread, because I knew that it would get a repsonse from yourself and it worked!
