Well you may throw your rock and hide your hand Workin' in the dark against your fellow man But as sure as God made black and white What's down in the dark will be brought to the light
I think everybody should slag him already they can then look like dickheads later ala thompson, pryce, and particularly minichello! Kids young, motivated to play, fast, elusive and a general athlete with the skillset of a half. Call our backs for lacking all of the above but this is still no good! Ha
Can't even get in a wooden spoon chasing Knights side.
Last time I saw you post was to tell us how awful a signing Talanoa was, and how he'd be terrible for us. That season he won our player of the year. Now you've called Carlos awful - I'm pretty excited about the signing!!! I know you have this history of wanting to be some kind of English Malcolm Andrews, desperate to look like you have some some kind of exclusive NRL knowledge - but I'm afraid your credibility is shot!
Utterly confused by this, if hes coming over to be a standoff then fair enough and he could be pretty exciting, if hes coming over to provide competition in the centres then its a joke as he clearly isnt a centre nor wants to play there
He is quoted as saying "I obviously came up the grades playing [at number] six, so playing at centre is a bit of a change - and it has been tough for me. But that's football, that's how it goes."
Doesn't seem overly upset at playing centre.
Anyway, the article is two years old. He may have changed his mind. You've been saying for at least two years you've had enough but still you post.
Wigan signed Gelling who had not only never played first grade - but had been sacked for smearing excrement around his hotel room. I'm sure no-one would be complaining if we signed him? Wigan's other centre Dan Sarginson also considers himself a standoff, as did Jordan Turner at Saints. Joel Moon at Leeds was a stand off, Chris Bridge at Wire...basically, the league is packed with quality centres that started at off half. I think it's a lot rarer the other way round, and can only think of Schofield at the moment.
Hull will give us a tough game but the key is to silence their fans in the Threepenny Stand. We have to do this because if we do'nt they will get behind their side and lift them in a way you've never seen, heard or witnessed before.
Frank Stanton. Coach to the 1982 "Untouchables" Aussie team. 1982 "
Or recruiting a decent up & coming utility player from who is available, but knock the club before you see him in action.
I think that some people are just frustrated that IF Carlos is one of the 3 top signings AP wrote about in the 18th man then I can understand them being a bit nonplussed with the signing.I expected from his statement that we would be getting well established, proven and experienced players or is this just more spin from AP.
I for one will welcome the lad to the club ,wish him well and hope he goes on to great things with us.
Pritchard & Taylor alone are massive signings, the big name players are not coming over as much as they used to, the only time players come over is twighlight of their careers or bad lad & no NRL side will touch them.
I don't know how you are going to use him, but he pretty much has all the basics. He has a decent kicking game, he is big enough and athletic enough to play centre, he is fast and has a good step, he can tackle well. I don't think you'll keep him for 3 years. I expect him to make a position his own and earn an NRL contract well before 3 years.
