dont see what this guys problem is. my dad works for the council and told me the other day that runcorn market has been losing over £100'000 per month for several years now, for various reasons. so is this person asking that the council tax payers of halton effectively fund the half dozen loss making shops remaining in the market? i think a dose of reality is needed. also,did the council bail us out in 2008? could have sworn it was Big Ste O'C. ultimately the council must choose the lesser of two poop holes. and i think we can all agree runcorn is the bigger poop hole.

I used to work in Runcorn and I had nothing but moaning about Widnes when I was over there. A lot seem to think people owe them a living. They've had a cinema for years and we haven't. We address this balance and all of a sudden it's favouritism. Their old town, quaint as it is, is not big enough for the town and neither is the market.

As for the lib dems, they gained a massive amount of respect from the country pre election and have lost it all very quickly. I wonder which of his tory masters made him write this letter in.

To be fair to those who live in Runcorn, it's the biggest poop tip I've ever seen. Of course they'll be bitter that Widnes is getting some much-needed redevelopment.

What I find sad about Runcorn is the fact that some bright sparks many years ago decided it would be a great place to dump all the dregs of Liverpool in absolute slums... We now have 4 generations of 'can't be arseds' to are basically society's parasites.

Both towns are in need of development, I just don't see why the town's focal point, one which makes the town what it is, brings commercial interest to the town and actually is part of the very fabric of the community needs to be brought into it. I bet he hasn't even bothered to consider the positives that the club brings.

I think they should build a barrage just east of the Mersey Basin and flood both Runcorn and Widnes. It would certainly make the Northwest a smarter place.
