We scored two of our best expansive tries this season against a very good Halifax team due to the fact James Coyle was the first receiver and spread it wide to Mellor straight away who then put in Tyrer and Flynn. What do you know we made a break and Mellor scored. I do wonder whether or not Ianson would of put a kick/bomb up in that situation but we have been looking for better play options all season and we were provided with them twice tonight.

Yeah we didn't play well for the last 20 minutes, we weren't clinical enough (something we have been lacking since 2007) but I doubt it was James Coyles fault we lost the game.

Please explain how Jack Owens a fullback is better than James Coyle a scum half?

Yea I don't quite get that. People crying out for more expansive rugby, we chance one half back and suddenly ball flowing about and we score a great last tackle run play etc yet he's to blame for narrow loss?

Kevin made two big mistakes last night that put the game beyond Widnes. The kick through from Fax which he palmed forwrd, to me was going out on the full and the the kick from a fantastic attacking position was terrible. Another player who has gone to Widnes with high hopes from the fans and is doing nothing. Those mistakes and a penalty prone pack lost you the game.

Wow their really is a lot of people put their who want Penny to fail. Yea he made 2 quite big errors but the lad pretty much won us the game against Batley with two magic moments!

for me penny had chance to be a hero either backing himself or passing to tyrer right at the end but thats not what cost us and im affraid to say its the lads who have contracts who are letting us down theyve taken there foot off the pedal now the pressure is off and the lads who are still fighting ( varkulis tyrer hulme and the duel reg lads ) are pulling it out the bag when ever they get a chance to do somthing.too many penalties from are so called sl members have cost us in 2 games in a row now

Dropping the ball that was kicked quite hard at him in that rain, was hardly a big mistake. He had a few milliseconds to decide whether to get out of the way, or try to catch it and made the wrong choice.

The stupid penalties was what cost us the game.

I'm also not so sure about the way we use substitutes, for example, I think we're a much better side with Tomkins fast distribution away from the ruck. We've lost the last two games in the last ten minutes when I don't believe we have our best team on the pitch.

If you look at the U18s team Owens has been playing at halfback.Not just Coyles fault as I said James Coyle not good enough for Widnes.Penalties and discipline t main problems to lost.

And last night he had another massive chance to win the game and blew it. He's a winger, full of pace and had a great chance to back himself and run at White but he decided to put in a shocking kick. Back himself a little bit more and he could've took White and won the game. I just don't think he's good enough, he makes so many poor decisions.

Totally disagree in regards to Mellor. I thought he was one of Widnes's best last night. He set up the first try and scored two of his own through great support play. His kicking game was also very good last night, the number times he got the ball to stop on a sixpence at Fax's end was superb. Plus it's the little things that make the difference, the number of times Mellor rescued Widnes by getting to Halfax's grubber kicks first tuck to some real effort and ability to read the play.

It was Widnes's sloppy discipline that cost them the game. The penalty count must have been 10 - 3 or thereabouts in Fax's favor.
