Close the door on your way out Dennis. Does anyone really see us improving over the three years of our franchise under Betts, we will still be taking these huge beatings next year if he is still with us.

Does my head in this it really does. What did you expect? I got hooked on RL in the Eighties, long time ago now. Wigan were undefeatable, Widnes were arguably a better side than us. I enjoyed the Boyd v Kurt battles and it got me hooked on the game. But time waits for no man, those days are over.
So fast forward to 2012, and Widnes are back in SL, where they belong IMHO. But, and it’s a big but, you were always going to have to endure at least one season of pain. The only way this will not become two or three is if the town get behind the club and start turning up in numbers. You are giving away tickets left right and centre, yet you are still only getting 5,000 people at a home game. You cannot win anything if you don’t have a paying 10,000+ home attendance, look it up if you don’t believe me. You complain about getting tonked in France, but with only 300 fans travelling you obviously don’t respect your franchise. There does seem to be a two tier system at the moment, the well supported clubs, and those that aren’t.
You can’t blame Betts if the players are poor, he can only work with what he’s got. And until you start turning up in numbers to watch your team, things aren’t going to improve, sorry but that’s the cold hard truth. If I were from Widnes and stumbled across this forum there is no way in a million years I would go to a game. The negativity is astounding, almost as bad as when we played at Widerspool. Go into work tomorrow and tell everyone how crap your team are, then come back on here and complain that you don’t win enough games. Or get behind them, as a work in progress, and spread the word, Widnes are back in SL and with a bit of support may do something.
