Absolutely made up with the performance. It was not vintage, knock ons and missed tackles were too prominent but the performance of young Danny Craven topped what was a very defensive, hard working effort.
To have had that amount of possession given away on the line rightly or wrongly (some decisions were highly pedantic but we shouldn't let that mar the victory) and limit them to the points they had was outstanding. Our last line of defense was pretty great at times, it tended to be missed tackles in the middle of the field which were most disappointing although one of their tries did come from a drive which you can't blame them for too much.
One or two of the high ball takes tonight were superb. I think it was Flynn who saved us although it might have been Gaskell who is another player who deserves an honourable mention.
Man of the Match, I agree with sky on Craven. The last gasp tackle on their PNG international (I think), the presence of mind for his try and the way he handled himself generally showed a lot of promise for such a young lad.
All in all very positive. It was a very clean game with no real cheap shots from either sides and our players proved if anything that they can handle sustained pressure from physical sides.
