Wakefield Trinity are still without a 2021 victory in the Women’s Super League and tonight they came up against a Bradford Bulls side with just a solitary win to their name which came against the Warrington Wolves ladies.

A convincing win for the Bulls would lift them above Featherstone Rovers but a loss to Trinity could see their West Yorkshire rivals jump ahead of them and send them to the bottom of the pile.

There was plenty to play for as the Bradford Ladies played their first game at Osdal in over two years.

After a good start from Wakefield it was the Bulls who opened the nights scoring when Danielle Bose took a lovely pass from Millie Taylor to cross. Dunn was unable to add the conversion, the Bulls 4-0 ahead on seven minutes.

Within a couple of minutes Bose went in for her second as she took a Stacey Greenwood pass to cut through the Wakefield defence. This time Dunn added the conversion for 10-0.

On thirteen Greenwood joined the party with Grace Ramsden the provider with a sensational back door pass to go in under the sticks. Dunn scored from the shadow of the uprights for 16-0, the game already getting away from Wakefield.

Great Trinity defence, holding up players over their line twice in quick succession, showed the spirit of the visitors but Taylor extended the lead to 20-0 as she crashed the line and took two Trinity defenders with her as she stretched to score. Dunn was unable to add the extras.

Bose completed a thirty-two-minute hat-trick when she supported Dunn who took a kick over the top before pulling the defenders and passing to her centre teammate who crossed behind the sticks. Dunn couldn’t add the conversion, the Bulls 24-0 ahead.

On thirty-five Kacy Haley got the sixth try of the night for the Bulls and when Dunn added a third conversion of the night it was 30-0, the points going to Odsal.

Wakefield managed to defend their line for the first twelve minutes of the second half, but a nice passing move saw Linda McLean score in the corner after ghosting pass one defender and going over the top of a second. Dunn kicked brilliantly from the touchline in worsening weather conditions.

Bradford lost Hermani Grace to a sin-bin on sixty-two after conceding three quick penalties but it didn’t hold the Bulls back as Bose went in for her fourth try of the evening on sixty-six after the ball was moved from the centre field to the right wing through fast hands. Grace Ramsden was unable to add the conversion after taking over the kicking duties from the injured Dunn.

A fabulous Greenwood try, the best of the game as she brushed off three tackles before carrying a fourth tackler over the line with her to ground. Ramsden added the extra two for 46-0 with just over five minutes remaining.

Wakefield broke their duck for a late consolation after a fantastic Liv Whitehead run down the right wing to score a forty metre effort under the sticks. Lisa Taylor added the conversion as the final hooter sounded for a 6-46 loss.

This was a stunning performance from the Bulls who ridiculed their lowly league position with a big win over a Trinity side who they kept to a single try through an eighty-minute exhibition. Trinity had their moments but with one exception they couldn’t find a way through the determined Bulls defence. The Bulls up a league place, Trinity still seeking their first win.
