Great game of open rugby, but some pretty ordinary defence on show though that always seemed the case with the Premiership. Never something i was really bothered about.

Didn't go as my dad refused to take me on principle (Fax had put their prices up for the game based on the fact that the Bulls took arguably the largest away following at the time and were trying to cash in). I did watch it on sky and nearly broke the sofa jumping up and down on it!!!

amazing how much the game has changed in a relatively short space of time. Tired scrappy look D, with teh gameplan seemingly to let the ball just go through the hands, whereas todays game is so much more on hitting runners round the back with dummy runners hitting short lines. Very different.

Two forwards on the bench only too? And one prop. Medders didn't play prop did he? Or did either Graham or Tommo go into the pack? My memory fails me.

I seem to remember that we'd bring Tomlinson on, move Bradley up to back row and Nickle to prop? Bizarre as it may now seem, I think MacNamara also had a few spells as a ball playing prop in his first season (I'm fairly sure he'd played that position at Hull).
