| So far after 6/7 games fans of Catalans, Hull, Warrington (got there wish), Salford (my team), Bradford and Wigan have all been calling for the sacking of their head coaches. Now i defend RL as a more sensible sport than football with its culture of sackings, but im starting to wonder. In a season when relegation is not happening it appears we have all gone slightly mental. I wonder why almost half of clubs fans are so unhappy. At Salford we certainly have a coach under fire, though winning today may help Bombers cause.
Just an observation of mine but its very odd

Simple really , Sport is competition , for every winner there is a loser , we all expect our team to win at least half of their matches , but that is not possible
But we keep being told it is now a business where all can be a success , it is all a product that you buy into
We keep being told that it is all about producing junior players and because of no relegation we can be happy finishing bottom
But it will never work

| Some teams have started slowly this year, Catalans for example with only 1 victory in the league against a Warrington team who were in meltdown. After a 3rd placed finish in the table last year, fans would have expected the team to kick on this year and so it looks like Kevin Walters has taken them backwards.
Equally, McNamara has inherited his position from a successful coach in Noble. If we're to be fair though, the seeds of decline were sown by Noble's recruitment policy over the years and now McNamara can't really pick up the pieces, and doesn't have the experience as a coach to make do with what he has. You can see why Bradford fans want a coach with more experience. After a lot of success in the SL era, you'd hate to see your side on 3 points however early it may be in the season.
Fans hate to see clubs go BACKWARDS. Wigan aren't the dominant force they once were, Warrington have high expectations they never achieve, and Catalans and Bradford are capable of so much more. Salford were always going to struggle but I can understand that fans want an inspirational coach who can get the team to play as greater than the sum of its parts.
I think a few things we need to account for are a lack of quality coaches in the sport. Who would replace these struggling coaches? Also, I think we need to appreciate that at this point in time there wasn't a big enough pool of SL standard PLAYERS to support 14 teams in the league. I don't think we've seen an increase in the quality of the competition in terms of skill and thrilling matches, but we're seeing a levelling out of the teams so that everyone can compete on the day (this owes a lot to the salary cap).
As a whole I think we need to accept that with the franchise system coming into play, some steps back will have to be taken, but from there we'll have a base from which to build and this will ultimately strengthen the competition. It might just take a few years for this to show. For the moment, I hope clubs will stick by the coaches a little more as stability will be important.

He's a disgrace. An absolute disgrace. What happens if other clubs fail to counter-act his controversial tactics? We'll end up with Huddersfield Giants in the top four and pulling in five figure crowds.
Bloody scandalous.

| If Rovers were bottom three right now most Rovers fans wouldn't want rid of Morgan.
It's the same old clubs moaning about the coach. The only clubs I think should be looking to replace are Hull and Salford. Hull have a straight replacement in Jon Sharp who has far more experience than Agar in the position of head coach and Mcrae has never quite cut it anywhere else but Saints.

absolutely disgraceful that the likes of wigan now play second fiddle to huddersfield, if we have anythnig about us we will hand him his p45 prompt in the morning, oh and sack the marketing team who have made sure we are now capable of attracting 5 figure crowds, ( but dont spoil the fun for those who still think we get 3,000)

That's a 5 figure crowd if you include the , as a figure
(okay, you'd need to be deluded to think the , counts as a figure but you get the drift)

| i think its the 'we want instant success or else' mindset of Football thats gotten into RL - clubs who havent exactly made a habit of winning much recently are demanding instant success and if they dont get it then they want the coach out.
this season in SL anyone in the top 8 can win the championship so why is there a mass outcry all of a sudden?
the Succesful teams are moulded together over years not just bought during 1 off season

| If this topic is for any coaches including those from clubs outside of SL, then the biggest case for redundancy is Dave Rotheram at Town. His record is 8 wins out of 40 matches, and that includes 2 games against Cumbria's amateur team and two wins against London Skolars. And the club wonders why they can't get people to get back to watching the team again.

Yep always wondered myself how he remains in a job, Paul Kidd at Swinton is another who is past his sell by date.
