I like Ben, but not the news i was hoping for

Not much of an announcement but glad he's here for another year. Didn't expect him to play the game time he did in 2018, I'd expect him to be played less next year with a starting pack of Hill, Clark, Cooper, Hughes Currie (please), Clark. With Tasi, Philbin and BMM on the bench. All it takes is a couple of injuries for him to have a spot though - so will play an important role for us.

I was told Ben had signed at least a month ago, the only reason I'm mentioning this is given I was told a month ago why has the club sat on the news for so long. If a player signs then get the news out to us fans, why sit on it?

Must be something going on between Benny and JJB to see who is going to tap out first. Significantly reduced playing role I hope, its time to move on.

After last year I'm willing to give him and price benefit of the doubt. Maybe this will be his last year, maybe he will be just as good as last year and it won't be a year too far.

Understand your point, but in the off season they need to have a flow of PR and information coming out of the club to the fans.



Big signings they shouldn’t be sitting on as they often make their way out to the public before hand, so an immediate big impact announcement is best. But for a Westwood contract extension sort of announcement they will balance it between kit launch news, Walker signing and internationals. Next week or so will probably be squad numbers (which will have been decided ages ago) then stuff on pre season training and the army camp.

Squad numbers are usually announced the last week in November. They were last year.

Yes, so I would expect this weeks Guardian to have interviews with Westwood and the arrival of Austin etc, squad numbers will then be announced next week on Thurs 29th Nov, to fit in with the Guardian, with teases on Twitter & Facebook etc of who's in what shirt in the build up.
