Happy 2020 Leythers. So what are our predictions for 2020. Who will be in the championship GF and who will come down from SL. With a better starting squad than 2019 can we go further?

Not convinced about the depth of the squad, especially in the forwards - and that’s what lays the platform, we have 4 halfs who all offer something different and can hold there own at the top end of the championship - think we have relatively strong centres and wingers,
Reckon top 3, could even come top with no Toronto type team - top 5 could be a very open comp
No doubt we will strengthen come the business end - certainly wouldn’t write us off getting promoted |

Yeah pretty good summary.Think we lost that extra something after Hock went last year. Will that be it for signings before the season starts or could we see a couple of loan signings?

It was stated that we have a couple of SL loanees to be announced, but without sounding to disrespect them if they are so far down the pecking order with their current teams I’m not sure they are what we need |

I think we are well covered and will cope when the ball comes away from the forwards’ collisions but I think we are short of an enforcer like Hock. |

The trouble is,an enforcer/retaliator gets you nowhere,even if they try to keep it within the law of the game,it could result in a sin binning, or a penalty to the opposition. |

Plus the possibility (but no more than a possibility) of an exciting overseas' signing. |

Pace is certainly one of the keys,
quality halfbacks playing behind a winning pack is another.
I think we have the halfbacks.

Fev bullied us in the play offs and Yorky refs allow a lot of slowing down at the ptb hence some real muscle needed yet

Talk is cheap VL. We go with what we have. Sammut doesn’t need a winning pack.. Pace, pace and more pace. We have had grunt and did nowt for us.
