Into the last season of his 2-year stay with us now. Can't see him being offered another contract. Thoughts?

Will be gone at the end of the year. For me he hasn't shown any of the skills that he displayed at Wakey (unless he just looked good in a relatively poor team)

I was hoping he'd have spent the off-season cutting the errors out of his game but after the Leigh game it looks as if he's worse than ever.

Reminds me of that fella we got from Hull who's real name escapes me (Eric). I just think he's out of his depth at this level

Still have memories of him playing really well against us once, but perhaps that didn't happen very often. Otherwise why was he at Wakey?

My concern is his mobility, he's often struggling to get square/onside after making a tackle. A good hooker could make a break or force a penalty from him with relative ease as a result if the guys either side of him don't work hard to cover. We've gone through a series of big 'impact props' who haven't really worked out due to not being mobile enough (Tautai and Paleaesina later on in his career) or simply not making an impact (Pettybourne, Lauaki, Lima, Paleaesina in his last year). I'm starting to come round to the idea that there might not be a place for that style of prop anymore, at least to the extent there used to be a decade or so ago when Paleaseina was tearing it up. Teams seem to be better at dealing with their impact (often by subbing one or both props at the same time as the impact player comes on) and better at exploiting their weaknesses.

Give him the benefit , wait till the league games start but he has a lot to do !

He's certainly got a lot to prove this year.

With Crosby out for a while he'll get his opportunity to turn it around.

You always have that feeling a player who had a poor first season can go on and turn it round in a second season but Sunday was an awful start to that for Tautai.



He simply doesn't look to have the concentration or fitness to rid his game of the various types of errors he comes up with.

Tautai was consistently very good for trinity in a struggling team. Hope it works out for him at Wigan as he has ability and he was well liked by the fans at Wakefield.

He's going to have to try a LOT harder.

I don't think his effort can be faulted, He doesn't look like Lima in his second year where he just went through the motions; he just doesn't look good enough.

I don't disagree. I think he's out of his depth at Wigan, almost as if he never realised - and still doesn't - just what's expected of him.

Season hasn't started yet but I hope he proves you wrong (just not against Trinity!).

I was impressed with his first stint at Leigh at the weekend. Worked hard and made some good metres playing at Loose. Then in the second half he must have dropped at least 3 balls and didn't do near as much work. Kind of sums him up as a player really... He just doesn't have any sort of consistency. After his performance at Leigh, Joe Bretherton will be right in the mix this year. Stood up well against a big Leigh pack, impressive.

Frustrating.



Does some really good things in attack but his style comes at a price as his rampaging efforts seem to result in him losing the ball.



We need to find another Scott Taylor.
