If want cheap i would say imperial or wetherspoons mate.

So is the golden pheonix cheap or not? Is it a banquet sytle chinese restaurant or not? im getting mixed answers here.

I think we ordered a banquet style thing with a bit of everything when we were there. But you're right, it's not a cheapo place. But then I can't think on the top of my head anywhere which would be suitable.

Yeah i mean an all you can eat restaurant. Doesnt have to be chinese but generally towns have at least 2. I find it hard to believe that widnes doesnt have any...?

There's the toby carvery, that's all you can eat. Up by Morrisons and the new B & Q. You can have as much as you want there with everything save the meat.

best place to eat in widnes has got to be the coterie, fantastic gourmet food.

Golden Pheonix is NOT an all you can eat style restaurant - it does have those set meals for 4 etc.. on the menu and stuff. And to my mind, it isn't that cheap, ceratinly not for a mob of students. It's nice tho!

I believe it is gash, you get what you pay for, but very cheap. But, saying that, I haven't been there.

Last time I ate there I swear the sauce tasted like HP and ketchup. Not bad food but put me off a bit.
